The Covenant

What have I been learning about our great and awesome God lately? Well....where do I start? You see, I have been part of a group of people who is reading about the amazing relationship between Him with His people (in the book of Exodus). Amazing that I too, am now in a covenant relationship with Him (thousands of years later)!

He is

CREATOR and I am one of His creatures, made in His image, for a purpose - to give glory to Him (and to have dignity)

KING and I am His subject, one who is to obey and serve Him

SAVIOUR and I am the rescued, for which I owe my life to Him!

GRACIOUS and I am underserving... yet very thankful for the life I now have in Christ

FAITHFUL and I am often faithless, I can fully trust in the Faithful One

PATIENT when I often fail to obey, "please forgive me and give me a repentent heart"

COMPASSIONATE and ABOUNDING IN LOVE...

"May I live knowing that the people of this world are the objects of his compassion and love.... and to have the courage and passion to tell them about the Creator King, Gracious Saviour, Faithful covenant Keeper and Patient, Compassionate and Loving Lord and Missionary who longs for them to be in a relationship with HIM..."

The REAL thing!

Wow! You mean to tell me that the stories in the Bible are actually REAL?!? The voice belonged to a little seven year old girl in my year 2 Scripture class. My immediate answer: "Yes". The amazement on her little face just said it all.... She was confronted by the reality of a REAl God who spoke to real people in history and is still speaking through His Word!

How awesome is our great God! He chose to reveal Himself through the spoken and now written words of the prophets in the Old Testament so long ago, but more so, He has revealed Himself through His Son, Jesus Christ! (Hebrews 1:1f)

Every year, millions of Australians celebrate Easter, yet only one girl in our year 2 class knew what the first Easter was really about: "Jesus died on the cross and he rose again from the dead.". Well.... you should have seen the looks on the other kids' faces! Bewildered!! How can anyone rise from the dead?!?

Jesus rose from the dead, and we can know this because he appeared to many people, and this is recorded for us to read in the Gospels.

We also know that after he had provided purification for sins, Jesus sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in Heaven (Hebrews 1:3). Imagine their faces now!
